Which AFF course?

E-mail Print PDF

Considering doing a full AFF course? or maybe just one charity jump?

One of the great things about this 'new world order' in the financial markets is that there are some terrific deals to be had everywhere and skydiving is no exception. For me and probably for most others, the main reason to get out there and push myself to any extreme is not just about saving a few bucks, it something much more personal. The level of 'energy re-charge' and life enrichment we get from some new challenge acts as a signal to our whole psyche, to be more confident, positive and enthusiastic about life in general. Some people go and walk Machu Picu while others run a marathon. Some dive the deep oceans and some trek across the polar regions. Whether they admit it or not, those who take up some kind of gauntlet know that they want to get something out of the experience – most likely some aspect of personal development and growth. At times of world economic restructure, career change, life re-direction and new business start-up, we need these experiences more than ever to refocus and refresh our passions and help us drive to even greater levels of achievement in our business and personal lives.

There are a number of factors which you need to consider in choosing your AFF course and we'll provide you with all of the information you need to ensure that you get the most positive experience possible. We'll discuss accelerated free fall fixed centres Vs Independent Schools, home base versus vacation courses, weekend commitment Vs full time 'fastrack' courses. We'll alert you to the hidden costs that could well break the bank, and we'll show you ways to avoid them. We'll also poll your input and include your feedback on the different courses, centers and schools right here in this site. Those who follow you will get the benefit from your comments and you will influence their buyng decision.

Perhaps you're thinking about an AFF course for someone close to you? Either way, here is an explanation of how the Accelerated Free Fall system works, training centres, training methods, instructors, planning, medical aspects, places to do your course and all of the things that really matter.

Lets start with a Reality check; there are plenty of schools and centers for you to choose from and the internet gives you the opportunity to surf them all from your PC. You already know that they all want to sell you a course and if you were buying a vacation or a new computer or something else that will make a big dent in your credit card, you'd do a little research first wouldn't you?  Sure you can go to the specialist skydiving magazines and forums and try to decypher what the hell most of the jargon means and try to establish what the politics are and whats real and whats pure marketing. Those places are for people who skydive pretty much every weekend, every day off and most vacations and thats the way they have their fun in life .Skydiving worldwide is a highly specialised area and has a culture all of its own and many different sub cultures within. Some of those skydivers will read this guide for five minutes and then switch over to a site thats closer to their own areas of interest - and rightly so. I have one message for them before they go - please bookmark this site right now. You know that your friends and relatives all ask you about your sport and you also know that you'll encourage them to give it a try (we all do). You'll probably also bring them along to your own dropzone and maybe even get them a deal. Thats all great and I wish you well. Wouldn't you like them to understand a little moe about your world? Maybe see them extend that one charity jump into an AFF level one? maybe graduate? That's what we're looking for too - we both want the same thing and we are they as a tool for you to use.

This guide is for those who are interested in making their first skydive and have lots of questions that they need plain answers to. You may have some fears and anxieties or you may be blessed with supreme confidence and be ready to step into the void. You may be one of the lucky ones with a well paying job or struggling on a budget. You may be young and single, with few commitments or you may be older, with kids and with a tight work schedule.

We'll answer all your questions and also some that you hadn't even thought of.

Lets get started with a look at what happens on your AFF level 1 when you're in the aircraft just about to step out of the dor with your two instructors.
