A great year for Accelerated Freefall
We now have over 500 registered members and they have started to share their stories on the accelerated freefall blog. We'd like to thank all those members for joining and ask you to be outspoken about us, about skydiving, about Accelerated Freefall, about Tandem and about indoor skydiving. In fact we'll be happy for you to be outspoken about
pretty much any subject although we hope there will be some links to skydiving (which is what we're all about). We won't ever pass on your details to third parties and we'll treat your trust in leaving your details with respect.
Visits have doubled and on many days we have over two hundred visitors, in fact December 2010 is already our record month for visits so far. Now this number may not seem a lot when you compare it with the big sites, but when you consider that we are operated by a small (but perfectly formed) team who give all their time on a voluntary basis, it's not bad at all.
Why do people find our site? Well I can tell why not - its not because we spend huge amounts on advertising with pay per click, because we simply don't have those funds available to spend. Its not because of any sly tricks to divert visitors from other links to appear on our site, because we simply don't operate that way. It's just because we offer good solid information, written by people who know what they are talking about. People who have taught AFF for many years and have helped thousand of students to exceed their own expectations. People who want to help more!
The thing we're most proud about is that we've been able to help people. Some have shared their problems in the blog and we've been able to help them find solutions. Some have wanted to skydive and been unable to, others want to do it but don't have a drop zone within reach.
We've put some advertising on the site simply to help cover the costs of the site (which we otherwise fund from our own pockets). Youll notice that we've also put some affiliate links on the site. These are all for products in which we personally believe in and we think you'll like too. Things like travel insurance that covers skydiving, and great deals for indoor skydiving. We ask you to please use these links because by doing so you are helping our site to cover it's operating costs and helping it to help more people. We're planning to launch our skydive store at some point soon, it's been a little delayed by some technical difficulties which are now almost sorted. We're also planning to move to a threaded blogging system so that comments can link straight to the initial blog (instead of writing separate blogs).
So thanks again folks - keep jumping and keep writing your stories. Don't forget, if you need any help with starting to skydive, just blog it on the site (you'll need to register first, for free) and someone will get an answer for you.
Are you ready to skydive?
Step into our office :)
