My first jump was in an old WWII transport plane. I was the second one to jump and my buddy was right after me. I remember looking out the door and watching the first guy jump.
He had the greatest look of terror I have ever seen! I thought I'd see his eyes pop out of his head. When it was my turn I just cleared my head of everything and just jumped without thinking of fear. When that chute opened up, it was the greatest feeling. The thing I remember the most, was the complete and total silence I felt when descending. I had never experience that type of peace in my life. I remember seeing my friend floating down, within shouting distance. Neither of us said anything. We both felt the silence. It's been about 25 years. I miss jumping.

Note from Accel:
Sounds like your 'feel the need for speed' Dave. I reckon you need to get on down to your local dropzone and sign up for a tandem :)
