Having only done a tandem jump (yes it was great fun), I would not call myself a skydiver by any stretch. I am however a rock climber and I think there is a kindred spirit among certain sports of this sort. I think surfing and some skiing would be included also.
I saw a cartoon in a magazine once that showed 2 climbers perched on a tiny ledge on sheer cliff watching 2 skydivers go by. The caption read, "Those guys are crazy".
