Skydive BC North review by Sarah Ban Breathnach

If you are up for a life changing experience Skydivebc.North can provide the opportunity.

I spoke to Gloria who runs the business with her husband Barry. Since I get dizzy on the second step of my stepladder she was quick to reassure me that as you fall from the plane you have nothing to judge your fall against (I guess the ground is pretty far away) so you do not suffer the dizzy feeling of falling. She said they had one gentleman start skydiving at 72 and he continued well into his 80’s completing over 350 jumps. There is tandem jumping where you are attached by harness to another person for about 25 seconds of free fall and there is solo jumping. They offer a one day course for first jump solo (radio backup to help in landing). There are different canopies, a round canopy you go straight down, a square canopy can be aimed. You are up 10,000 feet, dropping 1000 feet in the first 10 seconds then after that 1000 feet every 5 seconds and you are traveling about 120 miles per hour (tandem diving goes even faster). Gloria says she has met people from all over the world, Austria, Denmark, Israel, the US and has jumped, landing on the world’s smallest dessert at Carcross Yukon. The diving is very tranquil, very quiet while you are falling and Gloria says everybody should try it at least once. Call 1-250-964-8228, www.skydivebc.ca is the website.

Closing with: Expect to have hope rekindled. Expect your prayers to be answered in wondrous ways. The dry seasons in life do not last. The spring rains will come again.
