Skydiving possibilities for the young
E-mail Print PDF

Are you really too young too skydive?

Well, you would be surprised, but there are actually many opportunities available to you.

For example, anyone of any age is allowed

in a windtunnel and whether you are looking for some fun or to start training, both options are available, and often naturally work with each other, for example, you have fun training, and you start to get better as you have fun.

You may not think that there are any wind tunnels where you live, that may be the case, but the numbers of these simulated skydiving centres 'Wind tunnels' are increasing, not just Nationally, but Globally, they are poping up everywhere.

Are you still not sure?

Well, at many dropzones (mainly in the U.K) there are courses available for anyone under the age of 16. they are tasters of what skydiving is about, and the practical aspects and events of skydiving.

For example, Netheravon dropzone offered a 'young eagles' course, where there was a senior group and a junior group, and at the time I was in the junior group, and my brother was in the senior group. there were many activities available, and it was great fun, aswell as having the opportunity to be coached by British and World champions. There were events for individuals and for teams, I acheived gold many in many categories of both feilds. my brother and I were in a two-way team three years running, we won our category every year (Formation skydiving is preformed on creeper boards on a laminated floor).  We changed our team name every time, getting better and better, first the 'Golden Eagles' then ' The Black Bulls' and finally, 'The Gruesome twosome' and the medals were presented to us by the Blue Peter presenter,  Simon Thomas.

So.... Are you still sure that you are too young too skydive?
