Friends and relatives all seem to ask me how to find cheap skydiving or even free skydiving and my special thanks go to Katie for prompting me to write up the ideas in one place. I really don't mind them all asking though, because I enjoy helping people to get the best deals possible. That way, they can spend what they save on saying 'thank you' by asking me around to dinner and feeding me wine and good food. So is it really cheap skydiving? well, I can drink a lot of wine and eat a fair amount of food so just maybe it's false economy. I guess it goes with the territory, being a skydiving instructor means that people will ask advice about cheap skydiving from time to time. So as a result I find myself (fairly regularly) reviewing cheap skydiving deals and advising friends all over the world about them and so it makes sense to list them as I find them here. After all, perhaps I'll get even more invites to dinner... hmmm, some chance! How we've carried out this price comparison of cheap skydiving
This article includes our findings about five main areas of cheap skydiving; Indoor skydiving in a wind tunnel, sky diving tandem, accelerated free fall, which accident insurance company, and your options for free skydiving. We're not a booking agent and we never will be. We can and will point you to the best deals we can find but we remain fully independent and you'll get the best service that way. We decided to list only professional and properly accredited companies. What does this mean in practice? Well, although we are focussed on finding the lowest skydiving prices for you, it also means we only ever suggest drop zones and instructors who are properly qualified and accredited by their national parachuting/skydiving associations, such as the USPA or BPA. This means that you will get the safest possible skydive with an operation that is properly inspected and quality assured - as well as all the adrenaline and fun you can handle. Cheap Skydiving Tandem packages in UK
These companies we've listed are specialist agencies and have some of the best deals we've found so far. We've looked at the parachute schools they use and they are all reputable and accredited members of the British Parachute Association. What does this mean to you? well, although you are about to partake in a risk sport, each of these centres are regularly inspected and quality assured by a regulatory organisation which has the power to shut them down if they do not meet the stringent safety criteria required. Buyagift have plenty of parachuting deals and one was as low as £29 when we saw this. Its worth taking a few minutes to look at all the possibilities. The site is nice and easy to use and makes it very easy to book.
Into the Blue gets a big tick in the box from me for presenting their list of dropzones with nice clear lables about location. Although we're looking for cheap skydiving deals we also want to reduce our travel time, so to get cheap skydiving the reality is that it's a balancing act between cost of skydiving and cost of travelling.
I was especially impressed that Red letter Days have a package which includes a dvd of your skydive, which is something that most people want to have and they decide to buy it on the day. Red Letter Days seem to know this and they make sure that the surprises have been anticipated as much as possible. They also have a package for four tandem skydives - quite handy to bring your eldest son/daughter, the wife and her mother eh? Perhaps a good option for a stag or hen party? Hmmmmm.
Activity Superstore have loads of great tandem skydiving deals and I was also impressed that Activity Superstore thought to put in the off-peak option. and today the lowest price I could see was £49.

Cheap Indoor Skydiving Packages in UK
Remember, these activities are pretty suitable for anyone of any age (almost).
Red letter days really know how to put indoor skydiving packages together! So many options for individuals and couples and groups and... well you get the picture. One of the best things I like about indoor skydiving is that its totally unaffected by the UK weather. You might take that for granted but after the amount of time I've spent sitting around drop zones on bad weather days - well, you get the picture. So book your dates and arrive in good time and don't plan to rush away. I guarantee you'll want to stick around and watch the fun even after you've completed your flights.
Intotheblue has a great group package which brings the costs down even more. In fact it even makes us wonder about kids birthday parties.... Hmm, y'know, the most difficult part I had with my kids in the twind tunnel? Getting them to come out. They would still be there now if I'd let them. Good deal for groups?Oh yes, down to £46 Pp at this time.
Buyagift have really hit the nail on the head with this £49 indoor skydiving package. Nice, easy to use site which makes it very easy to buy. Back in 2003 I called this 'skydiving without the fear' and it remains as true today as it was then. Milton Keynes and Manchester locations with first rate facilities and world class staff.
Activity superstore know exactly what we like! £64 for two to go the Air-Sphering in the wind tunnel. What a buzz and what a ride. Great for family and great for dates. You'll laugh and laugh for days afterwards and you certainly won't forget it.
Accelerated Free Fall - if you really want to learn how to skydive
This is for those who like to be in control. If you yearn to become a licenced skydiver who can put their rig on anytime and go skydiving every weekend then this is for you. I really like the package that Buyagift have put together for Accelerated Freefall. Most centres don't tell you that you'll have to pay about another hundred and fifty pounds for full BPA membership in order to provide a years full third party insurance cover (mandatory for all skydivers - including me). You're also allowed to use the jumpsuits and helmets provided by the dropzone during your course and consolidation jumps, but after that you'll need to buy your own ones - thats another three to four hundred quid. You really should have your own skydiving goggles and a proper logbook (forget the pieces of paper - you DO want to continue this sport don't you?). These add another twenty five quid or so. The bottom line is that this package gets you off to a cracking start. I'd reccomend getting sized up for your jumpsuit and helmet even before you start - maybe take a trip to the dropzone (pre-arrange with a phone call) and you jump suit can be placed on order to be picked up when you arrive.
The centres which buyagift have packaged their deals for are are three of the best in UK. I've jumped at each of them and I can't speak highly enough of them. Hmmm, I even work at one of the centres sometimes as a freelance instructor. I hope I'll bump into you there.

When your life depends on the skills, experience and quality of your skydiving instructor and the reliability of the parachute equipment and the jump aircraft, then we'd be crazy to make our choice based purely on price. So let's be clear that we've restricted our search to top quality operations and let's make sure that we buy only from companies who manage to reduce their prices through specialist knowledge of the market - not just because they find someone who 'piles them high and sells them cheap'.
