SkyVenture Montreal windtunnel Pre-AFF tunnel camp May 2009.
If you want to try indoor skydiving and you live in Quebec you have a real treat coming to you. Montreal SkyVenture windtunnel opened on April 15, 2009. The first accelerated freefall tunnel camp in Montreal is being run by Skydive University and if you are planning to do your AFF course this season, this could be exactly the right place to get fully prepared for it. If this sounds like you, then don’t wait to make contact with Kim Worthington at Skydive University because if this is like any other tunnel camps I’ve seen the places will sell out really fast (news came out last night).
The tunnel camp will take place on 1st – 7th May 2009 and you’ll benefit from some of the best AFF Instructors and Instructor Evaluators to be found anywhere in the world who will take you from zero knowledge to extremely confident in the space of four very busy and fun filled days. Scott Palmer, (Plamer), Kim Worthington and Phillipe Thibodeau from ‘Skydive U’ are supremely well qualified to help you to build your skills and confidence in that vital central section of the dive – the part after you have left the aeroplane (the 'exit') and before you activate your parachute. By the time you’ve completed this wind tunnel training camp, you’ll have an instinctive feel for your own best body position, and you’ll be able to easily turn, move forwards and backwards and even go up and down (yep, really its true). You’ll know that when its time to pull your own parachute you’ll be in a comfortable body position and you’ll feel fully aware and in-control. By that time, the hardest thing for you will be to stop yourself geeking the camera so much. You’ll be fully prepared to move into the next phase of your dive – the opening and checking of your parachute (not covered in detail on this camp, although it is covered on your actual AFF course). As an added bonus you’ll start to tune up the muscle groups which are so important to successful skydivers and most important of all – if this is like any other tunnel camp I’ve seen, you’ll have an absolute blast and you’ll leave smiling from ear to ear and feeling weary from an excellent freefall workout you’ll never forget. So why is indoor skydiving in a wind tunnel such useful preparation for an AFF course?
Although here at www.acceleratedfreefall.com we focus mostly on the needs of first time skydivers, we also know that AFF Instructors and Potential AFF Instructors subscribe to our feeds, so if you are preparing for your AFF Instructor course in Eastern Canada or North East US, this is an excellent way to tune up your hover control, bottom end drills, spin arrests, and rollover techniques with some of the top AFF instructors and evaluators to be found anywhere.
